
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win its league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time and was the youngest player in the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. She scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. She was second in the United States to score 20 goals and 21 assists for the year 2012, making her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring athlete in the nation to achieve 20 goals in one year. The following year, she was named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 as well as the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
